Finding Thrill While Facing the Fear of Stepping into the Unknown

Reaching For the Stars

Taking the first step towards a big goal, wish, or dream can feel extremely heavy, especially if it sits outside of your comfort zone and into the unknown. All my life, I have had dreams bigger than myself, as I am sure a lot of you reading this have. As I reflect back on my life on how I've approached reaching the dreams that sit out of my comfort zone, I noticed how much I held myself back, which in turn prolonged the time it took to accomplish said dream. Don't get me wrong, I most surely took a step or two that propelled me in the direction of my dream, but just when it hit a certain threshold of being outside of my comfort zone, I found every reason to procrastinate by taking actions that are considered a detour.

Recently, I decided to take a different look and experiment to see if I can find a new way/outlook that can help me move towards my dreams boldly and with no detours. I discovered an approach that changed it all. This approach starts off with needing to look at yourself - which includes your thoughts, situations, and reasoning - objectively. When you have that non-attached bird's-eye view, you can see the whole picture from a very clear lens. And if you're honest with yourself, you will be able to see how much you get in your own way. I understand how change is uncomfortable, especially when we don't have control over the outcome and when we are stepping into the realm of the unknown.

Overcoming the Mountains

You've taken an objective assessment of yourself and found that fear is what is holding you back; now what? Try this responsibly: first pinpoint exactly what is causing the fear within you to arise. Second, breathe in, and step right towards it continuously. When I say consciously, I mean every bit of it. Watch the fear arise, feel it deeply, and step forward into it while experiencing it all.

The Other Side

What I have experienced from doing this is life-transforming. 9 out of 10 times, I noticed that the fear built up was just a mind's story and not to be true. And in that 1 time that it is as scary as your mind has projected, I've noticed that I am strong enough and have the intuitive tools to walk right through the fire of initiation. In every one of these situations that I have moved forward towards my truest desire, the crippling fear that accompanies the soul expansion, a wave of inner freedom blesses the moment. Not only that, but I noticed increased levels of self-trust, and my confidence rises.

Final Thoughts

You are worthy of living to your truest and fullest potential. I know the mind can be a great conduit to holding us back, but willpower is an even greater resource in overcoming the mind's traps. I believe in you, and I can't wait to see the miracles that unfold in your story as you write it.
